About Us
Harmoniemusik Brass Quintet are a group of musicians with a wealth of experience and talent. All are members of St Josephs Brass Band, Strabane, one of Irelands premier brass bands. In late 2009 the idea came about to form a smaller ensemble from within St Josephs. Thus, Harmoniemusik was born.
The group consists of 2 Trumpets/Cornets, 1 Eb Horn, 1 Trombone and 1 Tuba. Four of the players are natives of Strabane, while one, originally from Germany, now lives in the locality of Strabane.
The name Harmoniemusik (German for 'Band Music') was chosen to represent all the above elements of the ensemble ie band, music and German.
Hamoniemusik Brass Quintet specialise in music from the classical genre, but also play music from the Jazz repertoire, film music and even pop music. The group are the perfect extra special touch that every couple would love on their wedding day with the music holding both a sacred and classical meaning.
